Charting a bold new course, Malfador Machinations' Space Empires: Starfury
takes players on a wild intergalactic ride through the Space Empires
universe. An exhilarating science-fiction action RPG, players take on the
role of a starship captain. Danger lurks in the cold void of space, but so
does fabulous wealth and power. Will you get a chance to hang up your
spacesuit and retire to a life of luxury or will your frozen carcass drift
forevermore amongst the endless stars?
Set in an ever-changing dynamic universe, Space Empires: Starfury has been
influenced by such titles as Elite, Star Fleet Battles, and of course Space
Empires. Commanding their very own vessel players can essentially decide on
whatever type of game they want to play. Want to explore the universe?
Become a universally known trader--or perhaps a universally feared pirate?
Make money, make war, or make trouble, it's all up to you.
As commander you'll have complete control over the components your vessel
carries. Upgrading new parts, and even changing out your ship for a newer
model, are common decisions that you'll be faced with. And since the
universe is anything but a friendly place deciding when to run, and when to
fight, will also become common decisions.
A real commander would only have to worry about tactics and not fighting his
controls, and so combat in Space Empires: Starfury is handled in an elegant
fashion. Underneath the hood battles are modeled quite complex, but thanks
to the intuitive control scheme you'll only have to be concerned with
outfoxing your opponent, and not memorizing dozens of crazy charts and
formulas. The battles themselves vary from small engagements to the
possibility of large fleet operations, all in a stunning display of fully
three dimensional graphics.
For years players have sent starships hither and yon in the Space Empires
universe in their role as supreme commander. Often these ships were
expendable, another one waiting to be cranked out three turns later. Thanks
to Space Empires: Starfury players will get a chance to see what it's like
to be that starship traveling hither and yon. Suddenly with you in the
captain's chair expendable is not a word to be found in your vocabulary.
Thrilling battles, a majestic universe, and open ended gameplay makes Space
Empires: Starfury the perfect choice for budding Kirks and Picards, or for
anyone looking for an action RPG that doesn't involve yet another day in a
dungeon.

If you're a Space Empires fan, you'll want this one.

Features:

* Set in the well-known and much beloved Space Empires universe, Space
Empires: Starfury allows players to enjoy the experience from a brand new
perspective.

* A gorgeously rendered universe in full 24-bit, real-time rendered three
dimensional graphics, a first in the Space Empires series! Combat is
colorful and exciting as lasers flare and ships explode, and even the
simple act of cruising the universe becomes a feast for the eyes!
Resolution support for 1024x768 and on up!

* A completely freeform mission structure that allows players the freedom
to choose the path they want to take, and become the role they want to
be, be it explorer, mercenary, cutthroat, or merchant. Plenty of
structured missions though gives the player a greater sense of purpose.
Of course you could play the entire game ignoring the pre-designed
missions and making your own way through the game!

* There are twelve different playable ship classes to choose from, and
each one is detailed in its components, allowing countless number of
variations. Design the ship to fit in with your character. Perhaps a
fast blockade runner, or a slow death dealing dreadnought. The
possibilities are only restricted by your imagination and economic
situation in the game.

* Over fifty non-playable ship classes to interact and possibly confront.
Since this is part of the official Space Empires canon expect to get up
and close with many of your favorite ships from that series. And by up
and close we of course mean turning them into miniature suns with your
killer weaponry.

* The universe doesn't stop just because you stop. Events across the
galaxy will take place as you travel the span of dozens and dozens of
star systems. Travel itself will be an awesome spectacle, as you
encounter nebulas, gas giants, asteroid fields, dreaded cosmic storms,
and much, much more.

* It's an Aaron Hall design so you know what that means, total possible
customization of the game in the form of mods. Mods could be something
as simple as changing the way some of the weapons work to a full blown
conversion of the game. Put the Death Star into the game, or the
Futurama delivery vessel, or better yet, both. Mods can be as simple
or as complex as you want them to be.

* Endless replayability thanks to the combination of a dynamic game
universe and mod-friendly file support.

* Towel and Babel fish not included.
